The Metabolic Formula — Glucose Metabolism & Lean Mass Support
Three ingredients studied for supporting healthy glucose metabolism already within the normal range, and for supporting lean mass and training performance.

Creatine Monohydrate
Creatine is among the most studied ingredients for supporting lean mass and training performance (Branch 2003, PMID 12945830; Kreider et al. 2017, PMID 28615996). Monohydrate is the most-researched creatine form, with the largest body of safety and efficacy data of any creatine salt. (PMID 12945830)
Dihydroberberine
A 2021 pharmacokinetic study (PMID 35010998) found dihydroberberine achieves higher plasma absorption than berberine, suggesting improved bioavailability of the berberine compound class. A 3-month randomized trial of berberine (Yin et al. 2008, PMID 18442638) reported reductions in fasting glucose and HbA1c in patients with elevated baseline levels. These are structure/function observations for healthy glucose metabolism already within the normal range — berberine and its derivatives are not a treatment for diabetes, and dihydroberberine can interact with medications, so consult your physician before use. (PMID 35010998)
Cinnulin PF® — Cinnamon (as Cinnulin PF®)
A meta-analysis of 8 randomized, placebo-controlled trials (Davis & Yokoyama 2011, PMID 21480806) found cinnamon and cinnamon extract intake produced a statistically significant reduction in fasting blood glucose in people with elevated baseline glucose. This is a structure/function observation for glucose metabolism already within the normal range — cinnamon extract is not a treatment for diabetes or prediabetes; consult your physician if you have a diagnosed blood-sugar condition. (PMID 21480806)
Why One Formula Beats the Stack
Sourcing these ingredients separately requires 3 bottles and 8 pills per day — vs. 6 capsules in this formula.

Form Quality Gaps
The commodity versions most single-ingredient bottles use — and why they fall short.
| FormulaForge Form | Commodity Default | What the Research Shows |
|---|---|---|
| Dihydroberberine (more bioavailable form) | Berberine HCl | A 2021 pharmacokinetics study (PMID 35010998) found dihydroberberine achieves superior plasma absorption compared to berberine HCl; standard berberine HCl has poor oral bioavailability that limits how much reaches systemic circulation.See the evidence → |
| Cinnulin PF® water-soluble cinnamon extract | Ground cinnamon powder or bark capsules | The trials pooled in the cinnamon meta-analysis (PMID 21480806) predominantly used standardized water-soluble cinnamon extracts, not raw ground cinnamon bark. Raw cinnamon bark also contains coumarin, a compound linked to liver concern at high intakes, which water-extraction processes largely remove. |
| Creatine Monohydrate at the clinically studied dose | Under-dosed creatine blends or novel creatine salts | Monohydrate remains the most-studied creatine form, with the largest safety and efficacy evidence base of any salt (Kreider et al. 2017, PMID 28615996); newer proprietary creatine salts marketed as 'superior' generally lack comparable long-term human trial data. |
Pricing context
Three separate metabolic-support supplements from quality brands typically cost $50-$75/month, especially at clinically dosed creatine and dihydroberberine amounts. This formula's live quote typically comes in at or below that range.
Exact pricing is quoted live in the builder based on your personalized formula. Example figures are illustrative only and reflect in-one example market research — not a guaranteed price or saving.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this formula a treatment for diabetes or prediabetes?
No. This formula is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent diabetes, prediabetes, or any metabolic disease. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. The cited research describes structure/function support for glucose metabolism already within the normal range in healthy adults. If you have a diagnosed blood-sugar condition or take glucose-lowering medication, consult your physician before starting this formula — berberine-class ingredients can interact with those medications.
Can I take dihydroberberine with metformin or other diabetes medication?
Berberine and its derivatives, including dihydroberberine, can lower blood glucose and may compound the effect of glucose-lowering medications, increasing the risk of hypoglycemia. Do not combine this formula with diabetes medication without first consulting your physician.
Why only 3 ingredients instead of a longer metabolic stack?
FormulaForge only includes ingredients where we found real, direction-consistent human evidence at a dose we could confidently match. We evaluated additional common 'metabolic support' ingredients — including chromium — and found the human trial evidence too mixed or population-specific to include with confidence. We'd rather ship three well-evidenced ingredients than pad the formula with unconfirmed ones.
Is creatine only for athletes?
No. While creatine is best known in sports contexts, the research cited here (Branch 2003, PMID 12945830; Kreider et al. 2017, PMID 28615996) covers lean mass and training performance broadly — relevant to anyone managing body composition, not just competitive athletes.
