The Heart Formula — Cardiovascular Function & Circulation Support

Five ingredients chosen for cardiac energy metabolism, healthy circulation, and vascular support — four paired below with the published research behind them, including where our dose differs from the doses studied; garlic is included as a standardized extract without a benefit claim.

This is a research-grounded starter formula — not a standardized finished product. Doses are evidence-based maintenance recommendations for healthy adults. Individual responses vary. Consult your physician before starting any supplement regimen, especially if you have a medical condition or take prescription medications.

The Formula

5 ingredients · 8 capsules/day · Each dose is study-attributed — see citations in line.

AvailOm® — Omega-3 EPA/DHA (as AvailOm® High EPA)

1000 mg

A meta-analysis of 21 randomized controlled trials in adults with metabolic syndrome or its components (PMID 41156531) found the largest triglyceride reductions at doses above 2000 mg/day, with smaller but significant reductions at 1000–2000 mg/day. The same analysis reported that LDL cholesterol may rise with omega-3 supplementation, especially at doses below 1000 mg/day, and advised monitoring LDL. That finding comes from adults with metabolic syndrome — this is a structure/function ingredient for healthy adults, not a treatment for high triglycerides or any disease. The study's dose bands measure EPA+DHA content; FormulaForge's amount is listed as AvailOm® material, so it may not map directly onto those bands. Your physician can advise on adjusting it in the builder. (PMID 41156531)

CoQ10 (Ubiquinone)

100 mg

A meta-analysis of 33 randomized controlled trials in heart failure patients (Xu et al. 2024, PMID 39462324) reported associations between coenzyme Q10 supplementation and several cardiac measures, including left ventricular ejection fraction; CoQ10 is concentrated in cardiac muscle and central to mitochondrial ATP production. Those findings come from a diagnosed-patient population — this is a structure/function ingredient for healthy adults, not a treatment for heart failure or any cardiovascular disease. (PMID 39462324)

Magnesium Taurinate

300 mg

Magnesium plays a well-established physiological role in healthy cardiac rhythm and vascular tone; the taurinate form pairs magnesium with taurine, an amino acid also studied for cardiovascular support. Organic-acid magnesium forms such as taurinate show substantially better gut absorption than oxide, which is roughly 4% fractionally absorbed (PMID 11794633). (PMID 11794633)

Vitamin K2 (as MK-7)

90 mcg

A one-year randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 165 women with low vitamin K status (de Vries et al. 2025, PMID 40077685) found 180 mcg/day of MK-7 significantly attenuated vascular stiffness progression, with the clearest benefit in post-menopausal women with elevated baseline stiffness; FormulaForge doses at 90 mcg/day as a maintenance dose, with the option to increase in the builder. (PMID 40077685)

Garlic (as Garlic Bulb Extract, 1% Allicin)

600 mg

Garlic (Allium sativum) bulb extract, standardized to 1% allicin. The 600 mg/day amount is FormulaForge's own default, and you can adjust or remove it in the builder. Garlic may affect blood clotting — talk to your physician before use, especially if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet medication, or have surgery planned.

Why One Formula Beats the Stack

Sourcing these ingredients separately requires 5 bottles and 13 pills per day — vs. 8 capsules in this formula.

Form Quality Gaps

The commodity versions most single-ingredient bottles use — and why they fall short.

FormulaForge FormCommodity DefaultWhat the Research Shows
CoQ10 as Ubiquinone at the trial-supported doseUnder-dosed CoQ10 (30 mg or less)The meta-analysis supporting CoQ10's cardiovascular findings (PMID 39462324) pooled trials using clinically meaningful daily doses; many budget heart-health products include 30 mg or less of CoQ10 — a fraction of the amounts studied.
Vitamin K2 as MK-7Vitamin K1 (Phylloquinone) or no vitamin KMK-7 has a substantially longer half-life in circulation than K1, supporting more sustained activity throughout the day; the positive vascular-stiffness trial (PMID 40077685) specifically used the MK-7 form. Most multivitamins include K1 only, or omit vitamin K from heart-focused formulas entirely.

Pricing context

Five separate heart-health supplements from quality brands typically cost $90-$130/month, especially at higher CoQ10 doses. This formula's live quote typically comes in at or below that range.

Exact pricing is quoted live in the builder based on your personalized formula. Example figures are illustrative only and reflect in-one example market research — not a guaranteed price or saving.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this formula a treatment for heart disease or high blood pressure?

No. This is a research-grounded starter formula for healthy adults, not a treatment for heart disease, heart failure, high blood pressure, or any diagnosed cardiovascular condition. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, and this product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. If you have a diagnosed cardiovascular condition, are on blood pressure or blood-thinning medication, consult your physician before starting this formula.

Does Vitamin K2 interact with blood thinners?

Yes — vitamin K plays a role in blood clotting, and can interact with anticoagulant medications such as warfarin. If you take any blood-thinning medication, talk to your physician before adding vitamin K2 to your regimen, or remove it in the builder.

Can I take this with a statin medication?

Statins are known to reduce natural CoQ10 levels in the body, which is one reason CoQ10 supplementation is commonly discussed alongside statin therapy. Discuss your specific medication and dose with your physician before combining this formula with any prescription drug.

Why does this formula start omega-3 at 1000 mg instead of a higher clinical dose?

The meta-analysis behind our omega-3 dosing (PMID 41156531) found the largest triglyceride reductions at doses above 2000 mg/day, but also found meaningful benefit at more moderate intakes. FormulaForge starts at 1000 mg/day as a practical daily maintenance dose — you can increase it in the builder if your physician recommends a higher amount.
