Creatine and omega-3 are frequently sold together as a training stack. The research supports each ingredient individually and does not, so far, support the combination as a combination. A 2026 network meta-analysis in Nutrients pooling 35 randomized controlled trials and 1,211 trained athletes ranked creatine highest for muscle strength and omega-3 highest for recovery outcomes — an outcome-specific pattern, meaning the two address different goals rather than amplifying one another. And the one study we found (2016, n=28) that actually tested them together in humans (Hayward et al., 2016, Journal of Sports Science & Medicine, 28 resistance-trained women across five consecutive high-volume training days) reported NO significant differences in muscle soreness, training volume, cortisol, interleukin-6, or C-reactive protein whether or not creatine was added to a higher-protein, omega-3-enriched diet. That is a null result in a small, single-sex, short-duration study, and it is the most direct evidence available.
