  1. A 2022 randomized controlled trial in postmenopausal women with hypertension found that 4 weeks of L-citrulline supplementation increased L-arginine availability and was associated with improved blood-vessel dilation response in this population; because the study population had diagnosed hypertension, this finding should be read as preliminary support for vascular/endothelial function in general use, not as a blood-pressure management claim. 2. A 2018 review reported that L-citrulline supplementation raises circulating L-arginine levels and supports nitric oxide synthesis more effectively than direct L-arginine supplementation, supporting normal vascular function. PubMed
  3. In a randomized crossover study, L-citrulline raised plasma arginine to a similar magnitude as direct arginine supplementation while additionally increasing plasma citrulline, demonstrating citrulline as an effective arginine precursor. PubMed
