- A 2021 randomized, placebo-controlled trial found that 5 weeks of L-carnitine tartrate supplementation was associated with improved perceived recovery, reduced muscle-damage markers, and preserved strength and power following intense exercise in healthy adults. PubMed
- A 2006 randomized, double-blind, crossover trial in resistance-trained men found that L-carnitine L-tartrate supplementation was associated with increased skeletal-muscle androgen receptor content compared with placebo, a change the study authors suggested may support post-exercise recovery.
